Kathleen Lenore Greenaway

Peacefully and comfortably in her own home, Kathleen (Kay) Lenore Greenaway (nee Carr), passed away with her beloved husband Lawrence by her side in the early morning hours of Friday, June 9, 2023 at the age of 92. Kay was born February 24, 1931 in Enniskillen Township.

Kay is survived by her loving husband of 71 years, Lawrence.  Cherished mother of Brenda (Bob) McKay, late Pamela (Guy) Kohlmeier, late Bradley (Cathy) Greenaway, Donald Greenaway, Adrien(fiancé Mark Dixon) (late Allister) McCabe, Jefferson Greenaway, Paul Greenaway, Brian (Deborah) Greenaway, and Michelle (Shawn) Morton.

Kay loved, and was loved by 14 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.  Remembered by many nieces, nephews and other extended family members.

Kay is also survived by her aunt Jean (late Roy) Wilson, Norm (Darlene) Greenaway, Ken(late Marg) Greenaway, Jim (late Sylvia) Greenaway and Dorothy (John) MacIver.

Predeceased by parents Harold and Bessie Carr, sisters Betty (late Scotty) Lines, Ailene(late Bert) McCallum, Marie (late Ivan) Bazeley, brother Murray (late Audrey) Carr, brothers-in-law Bruce (late Ruth) Greenaway and Ronald (late Claudia) Greenaway.

The family wishes to sincerely thank the VON Nurses, PSW’s, Dr. Kim and the Palliative Care Team for their kind, wonderful care of Kay, allowing her to remain home with her husband and family.

Private interment at Lakeview Cemetery, Sarnia. Family and friends are invited to a Celebration of Kay’s Life on Saturday, June 24, 2023 from 12:00 noon until 3:00 pm at the Point Edward Community Hall, 210 Monk Street, Point Edward.

In lieu of flowers, sympathy may be expressed through memorial donations directly to St. Joseph’s Hospice Sarnia-Lambton, VON Sarnia-Lambton, or Bluewater Health.
