Compagnion, Ernest

It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of Ernest (Ernie) Compagnion, of Sarnia, Ontario, on January 17, 2026, at Vision Nursing Home, at the age of 79. Ernie passed peacefully, surrounded by family and friends. 

Ernie was born on August 17, 1946, in Halfway Point, NL.

He will be lovingly remembered by his children: Stephen, Scott (Krystal) and Sabrina Litchfield (Patrick); cherished grandchildren Connor, Aiden, Ryley, Addison, Ava, Eric, Charlee, Kinslee & Ezra; dear friend of 60+ years and second family, Margie Gagne (late Jack), their children Nicole Clarke (Steve), Chad and Craig, and grandchildren. Survived by many extended family and friends who were always in his heart. 

Predeceased by his beloved wife, Sandi, father and mother, Percy and Philomena, and brother, Eric. 

Ernie loved classic cars, woodworking, and watching sports. He would do anything for anyone, without hesitation. Ernie will be remembered by his family and friends as being fiercely loyal, hardworking, caring, and having a unique sense of humour. 

 Special thanks to Vision Nursing Home and the incredible staff, Charlotte Eleanor Englehart Hospital of Bluewater Health Continuing Care, Care Partners, VON, Sarnia Police Services, MHEART and Lakeview Cemetery. 

Cremation has taken place, and a small private ceremony will be held with family at a later date.
