Brian Gerard Donohue
August 22, 1954 – May 24, 2025

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Brian Donohue on May 24th, 2025, at the age of 70.  He passed peacefully and was surrounded by his loving family.

Born the fifth of nine children in Windsor, Ontario, Brian grew up on Kildare Road, the proud son of John and Connie Donohue. Brian lived a life filled with deep devotion to his family, an infectious passion for teaching and a spirit of adventure that led him across continents.

He is survived by his best friend, and loving wife of 37 years, Linda. He will always be the loving dad to Brady (Sanjeev) of Toronto, and JJ (Juno) of Taipei, Taiwan. Beloved Nanu - to Brady and Sanjeev’s delightful son, Brian. Brian’s happiest memories were being a husband, dad, and grandad. He spent a lifetime coaching, supporting, advocating for, and inspiring his children.

Brian will also be missed by his three sisters (Kathy (Richard), Mary (Matt), Jane) and three brothers (Larry, John, Bill) and by Debbie and Peter Krukowski. He loved and embraced his 24 nieces and nephews and took immense pride in being part of a large, boisterous, and loving family. He thrived amidst the chaos, laughter and the strong bonds that come with having such a large, and beautiful family.

After graduating from the University of Windsor, Brian worked in financial and project accounting but after 6 years chose to pursue a career in teaching-proudly teaching high school Business and English for 35 years. He taught at different Windsor area schools including Walkerville, William Hands, WD Lowe, Riverside and Harrow DHS. Brian was “loaned” to the Department of National Defence, teaching for 9 years for the Canadian section of AfNorth International School in The Netherlands. He spent his final five years of teaching at the Canadian International Matriculation Programme at Sunway College in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. A passionate and inspiring teacher, he left a lasting impression on countless students, many of whom credit him with shaping their futures and igniting their interest in Accounting, Economics, and William Shakespeare.

Brian was grateful for the kindness and care he received from the many healthcare professionals he encountered, especially in the past couple years. Special thanks to Lori Newton, RN at Lambton Pulmonary Rehab and Dr. Allison Crombeen Bluewater Health Palliative Care as well as Mandy from Bayshore.

Please join us in celebrating his life on Sunday June 1st at the Sarnia Riding Club, Sarnia, Ontario. The celebration will be from 3-6 p.m.
