Gloria Jean Hawkins
May 31, 1941 - January 29, 2026
For an honourable life well lived, Gloria Jean Hawkins will be forever remembered by her family and friends. Spoiler of little dogs and the best Mom and Grandma ever, family was at the heart of everything Gloria did. She loved hosting holidays, celebrations, and Sunday dinners, always making everyone feel welcome and always the last one to sit down and eat. She leaves behind a legacy of luck, perseverance and caring for others. Gloria is survived by her sister Carol Capek; her children Kathy Culverhouse, Wayne Brander (Lori), Kelly Brander-Ebron (Joel), and David Brander; her grandchildren Orley Culverhouse (Jordan Schofield), Skye Culverhouse, Megan Brander, Matthew Brander, and Hannah Ebron; and great‑grandchildren Willa, Maeve, and Brynn. Special mention to Barbie for her most recent care and compassion. She is predeceased by her parents Leona May (nee Barker) and Thomas Hawkins, her partner Bill Boyle and brother Jack Hawkins. Gloria cherished her time with her 59er’s, the retired teachers, her Wednesday morning breakfast group at Lee’s, her Saturday breakfast group at Sal’s, Julie’s Tuesday night line-dancing crew, and any chance to enjoy live music or trivia with a Coors Light in hand. A celebration of Gloria’s life will be held Friday, February 6, 2026 from 11:00am-2:00pm at The Royal Canadian Legion Branch 62, 286 Front St. North, Sarnia, Ontario. We invite all family and friends to stop by, enjoy some social time and have a sandwich. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or Parkinson Canada would be appreciated.
