Tania Emily Lavoratore (Nov. 3, 1981 - June 7, 2026)
We are mourning the loss of our loved one, Tania Emily Lavoratore, who was born November 3, 1981, and died Sunday, June 7th, 2026. After a long struggle with her mental health, we believe she is at rest and her soul is with God our heavenly father.
Tania was a beloved daughter of Elena Pecora and the late Guiliano Lavoratore, and sister to Kayla Pecora. She was a faithful granddaughter to Teresa Pecora, with whom she shared a home after the death of her nonno, Mario. The special niece of Rose Haggart (Terry), Tania was much loved by many surviving aunts & uncles including Robert Pecora (Julie), Adriana Cottrill (Burt Peeters), Adriana Lavoratore, Bruno Lavoratore (Rosemary) and John Lavoratore (Teresa). She was a precious aunt in her own right, expressing much love, care and consideration for her only niece, Sienna Petersen. Tania was also close to many cousins and extended relatives in the Pecora & Lavoratore families in Canada & Italy.
After graduating with a degree in Mathematics from Western University, she worked as a Bankruptcy Analyst for the Government of Canada in both London & Toronto, expanding her network of colleagues and friends to form a diverse range of professional and personal relationships. Her travels to many places of the world reinforced an appreciation and respect for people from all backgrounds and cultures. “T”, as those close to Tania would call her, had a good heart and delivered kindness to everyone she could. She cared enough to challenge others to maximize their potential and refused to succumb to lower expectations for anyone. Her quirky jokes and strong personality made her unique and special.
Tania has been cremated in accordance with her wishes. We would like to extend a cordial invitation to family and friends to attend a Celebration of Life on Saturday, July 4, from 1- 4 pm at the Dante Club at 1330 London Road, Sarnia. Her departure from us has left a void that is deepened by the well of helplessness and regret we share for being unable to help her overcome the obstacles to her well being. In this vein, our family would greatly appreciate online donations in Memory of Tania to the Bluewater Health Foundation’s Mental Health & Addiction Services at https://www.bwhf.ca/donate or the Ontario CMHA (Canadian Mental Health Association) at https://ontario.cmha.ca/get-involved/donate/in-memoriam-and-in-tribute-donations/.
