Norma Jean O'Donnell (August 27, 1937 - January 22, 2024)
Norma Jean O'Donnell, 86, passed away peacefully on January 22, 2024 at Bluewater Health. Born on August 27, 1937, she lived a life filled with purpose, compassion, and dedication.
An award-winning realtor and accomplished businessperson, Norma Jean made a lasting impact in her professional endeavors. Her commitment to excellence and integrity set her apart, earning her the admiration and trust of colleagues and clients alike. Beyond her successful career, she dedicated herself to community service, embodying the true spirit of generosity and selflessness.
Norma Jean was not only a professional and community leader but also an avid reader with a passion for knowledge. Her love for literature and learning was infectious, leaving an indelible mark on all who knew her.
She is pre-deceased by her devoted husband, Dr. Joseph Patrick O’Donnell, and her cherished son Michael O'Donnell (Susan Ferguson). She is survived by her children James O'Donnell, Ann Stanley, and Mary Jean O'Donnell. Norma Jean's love extended to her grandchildren: Meghan Tara Rmeile (Saleh Rmeile), Katelyn O'Donnell (Paul Franchuk), and Lance Joseph Stanley. She was also blessed to be a great-grandmother to Rowan Franchuk. Norma is also survived by her brother Jon(Kathy) Thomsen, her cousins Margaret Lehrman (Michael) and Elizabeth Menashe (Ruben)and many nieces and nephews.
Norma Jean O'Donnell's legacy will be remembered not only through her professional accomplishments but also through the warmth and kindness she shared with everyone around her. Her contributions to both her family and community will forever be etched in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing her.
A memorial service to celebrate Norma Jean's life will be held at the Sarnia Legion Branch62 on Thursday, February 8, 2024, from 3pm to 5pm. All are welcome.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to Sarnia and District Humane Society, reflecting Norma Jean's commitment to helping those that can’t help themselves.
