TELFER, Jim

Jim passed away peacefully on September 1, 2026, at the age of 67 years in London, Ontario.   He was born April 21, 1959, in Sarnia General Hospital.  Jim grew up in Sarnia, attending St. Clair Secondary School. He then travelled to Toronto, Ontario, to attend the Graphic Design Programme at Seneca College from 1978-81.   He then moved to London and became a successful Graphic Designer, artist, even planner, and entrepreneur.

When he was 12 years old, he was diagnosed with Type I diabetes.   Jim took this diagnosis very seriously from the beginning.  He was very involved with diabetic education, clinical trials, and research.  In 2020, he was approached to design a medal for long term (50 years) diabetic survivors.  He earned this medal himself and then some.  He was always available and helpful to anyone requiring assistance or information.

Jim lived a very full life.  He was self assured, compassionate, non-judgmental, and contributed to all .  He travelled the world and had a multitude of travel buddies and friends.

Jim was also very close to hisfamily.  Christmas was always the best!  He was the planner and organizer of all the many family reunions.

Jim is survived by his sister Holly Mills (Florida), his nephews Lee Ormerod, Amanda (Alberta), Wesley Ormerod, Ashley (Nova Scotia), his great niece Mia Shamoon (London) and great nephew Jackson Ormerod (Alberta).   Predeceased by his parents Laverne (Mike) Telfer and Lois (nee Phillips), both late of Sarnia, Ontario, and his niece Melissa Shamoon (late of London).

Cremation and private interment has taken place.   A Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date.
