YOUDE, John Nevin

It is with deep sadness that the family of John Nevin Youd announce his unexpected passing on August 3, 2026, at the age of 77 years.   John was born in London, Ontario, to the late John W. Youde and late Edna Youde.  John was the loving father to Amanda, Jason, the late Tara Gunn (Justin Gunn), the late Stephanie Youde and Emily Youde (Matt Delben).   John also leaves behind his grandchildren Zack Youde, Anora Gunn and Ethan Gunn.

John also leaves his only sister Laura Childs (late Steve Childs) and his niece Jessica (David Catarino).

John had an early career as a drummer in the band Juggernaught and enjoyed success touring Southwestern Ontario in the late 60sand early 70s.   He decided to cut his career short and take a more responsible job at Canada Post to support his family.   John worked in London for many years and then transferred to Canada Post Sarnia, again for the benefit of the family.   John remained a postie until his early retirement in 2006.

John is also leaving behind his very own ex-wives club with members Jackie, Jill and Janet.

Those who knew John well, know he was not a particularly religious man and often told people that when he died, he wanted to be propped up in the corner with a cigarette in one hand and a beer in the other.   While his immediate family have discovered they are unable to fulfill that wish, they would like his family and friends to know that cremation has take place and a Celebration of Life will take place at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Breast Cancer Society would be greatly appreciated.  John lost his daughter Tara to Breast Cancer in 2018 and both his mother and sister were breast cancer survivors.
